On Wednesday 28th August, for the first time in 49 years, MIT celebrated its inaugural institute-wide Alumni event.
Over 250 former students came together to catch up, network and enjoy performances and speeches from well-known alumni, including celebrity chef and best-selling author Bridget Davis.
The event was also a great chance for our students to practice their skills; the food was prepared by our culinary students led by chef Tobias Wilkinson; front of house staff were our hospitality students led by lecturers Sandi Eickhoff, Frank Brough and Marilyn Plews; and the floral arrangements were created by our students from the School of Floristry led by lecturer Lisa Gilmore and Lynette Gumm.
Take a look at the Alumni Launch video below to see highlights from the evening.
Prime Minister, Jacinda Arden also took the time to create a video message for our Alumni event - watch the video.
